Thiruvananthapuram: Jellikettu directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery won the 44th Kerala Film Critics Award for Best Film 2019. Lijo (Picture: Jallikettu) won the award for Best Picture Director. Geethu Mohandas is the best director (Picture: Moothon). Nivin Pauly won Best Actor for his performance in Mutton. Manju Warrier (Picture: Prathi Poovankozhi) won Best Actress.
This is the only film award in Kerala to be selected by the jury after the state award. The awards were announced by Dr. George Onakkoor, President of the Association and Chairman of the Jury. Thekkinkad Joseph Balan, Thirumala Dr. Aravindan Vallachira, Prof. Joseph Mathew Pala, A. And Chandrasekhar were the members of the jury. A total of forty films were considered by the jury.
