University Grants Commission has released the guidelines for the first year batch for 2020-21 academic year. At the same time, students and colleges in Mumbai are confused about the implementation of new dates. Actually, according to the new academic calendar released this year, the new academic is to start from the first week of November, but earlier many colleges have started the first year batch online as per schedule.
Principal of St. Andrew's College in Bandra says that according to the previous UGC guidelines, the new session was to start in September, so the colleges did the same and started lectures online. Mumbai University also suggested the same and we did so, now we do not know how the new guidelines will be implemented.
Let us tell you that Mumbai University had done first year undergraduate courses batch admission in July-August. The vacant seats in all the colleges were filled by the end of August. Orientation programs have also started in many colleges and they are ready for regular classes. Now they are confused by the revised guidelines of UGC and want clarity from Mumbai University. Principal of HR College Parag Thakkar says that UGC guidelines have to be accepted, now we want to clear our doubts from the university.
